Confirm.io, Facebook’s new start-up company will be procuring with biometric ID verification system to confirm and verify driving licenses residing at a remote distance. The company was initially headed in Boston but as it is owned by Facebook, the setup there will be ceased down.
Confirm.io will allow the government to verify a driving license by providing an Application Programming Interface platform. Confirm is pleased to work with Facebook, the tech giant of this generation. The project was initiated three years back with the aim of maintaining user’s online accounts safe and secured.
Detailed information about the project is still not declared but it will definitely help in eradicating all the fakes accounts on the internet. Confirm said, “They are all set to march forward along with Facebook. A joint collaboration of Facebook and Confirm will minimize the efforts to keep our public harmless.”
After this new launch all the previous digital ID authentication software will be annulled, Confirm further added. Indian users will have to enter the same name on the Facebook account as that reflected on Aadhaar card so that they can sign in with their genuine names and connect with their friends and family.
We have nothing to do with your Aadhaar card details, says the company. Today, India alone has 217 million active Facebook users. 212 among the lot use Facebook on their smartphones. Confirm says, “The real motivation behind launching Confirm was to verify valid online user accounts and provide various security services.”
Facebook can help confirm people to recover their accounts after they have been hacked and misused or if they have forgotten their password. Facebook previously in September launched an application that supported account recovery with the help of face recognition. There are several other options that Facebook led down to keep users account secure and recover if needed.
Confirm just want to make Facebook’s services more strong and rationalized.
